Mukund misses ton by a run as TN reach 154/2

Skipper Abhinav Mukund led Tamil Nadu's strong reply before falling one run short of a century in their Ranji Trophy Group A match against Gujarat here today.

After bowling out Gujarat for 307, Tamil Nadu ended the day on 154 for 2 at the KSCA Stadium.

Mukund and Kaushik Gandhi did the recovery act after the early loss of Laxmesha Suryaprakash, who was caught behind off Rush Kalaria for 6, with a second-wicket partnership of 141 runs.

Kalaria struck for a second time, bowling Mukund on 99 shortly before stumps on the first day. Gandhi remained not out on 43.
 

Earlier, Gujarat had resumed their first innings on 267 for seven with Axar Patel on 28 and Chintan Gaja on 2.

Axar was the eighth man dismissed, for 44, before the innings ended with Gaja's dismissal for 20 in 112 overs. Left-arm medium-pacer T Natarajan took 3 for 86 for Tamil Nadu.
