Murder-accused shot inside ST bus in Bhusaval, dies

In an apparent revenge attack, two men shot dead an under-trial murder accused inside a state transport (ST) bus at Bhusaval in the district today, police said.

Launching an extensive man-hunt after the shocking incident, police arrested two men.

Nattu Chavriya and Gopal Shinde, accused in a murder case, were being escorted by four policemen to Bhusaval court this afternoon when the incident took place.

As the Manmad-Shegaon bus by which they were travelling stopped at Nahata square in Bhusawal, one of the assailants who was in the same bus and was wearing a monkey cap fired at Chavriya and immediately jumped down.
 

Another person, who was waiting for him with a bike, rode off with him.

Nattu died during treatment at the hospital.

Police formed four teams and arrested Sagar Barse and Amit Parihar, the suspected assailants, at Pal this evening, DySP Rohidas Pawar said.

Nattu Chavriya, Nandu Chavriya, Gopal Shinde and others are accused of murdering Mohan Barse a few months ago.

Mithun Barse, the deceased's son, had shot Nandu Chavriya dead in the court premises last month. Mithun was subsequently arrested.
