NCP leader Ajit Pawar on Friday said his party, if elected to power in the forthcoming Maharashtra Assembly polls, will come out with a law giving 75 per cent quota in private sector jobs to locals.
Pawar made the remarks here after interviewing the NCP's poll ticket aspirants from the district.
"We will come out with a law giving 75 per cent reservation in jobs for locals, be it in private factories or companies," Pawar announced.
Pawar's declaration comes in the wake of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly recently passing a bill granting 75 per cent quota for locals in jobs in private industrial sector.
Pawar also said the NCP wants to forge alliance with like-minded parties for the polls, due in September-October this year.
The former deputy CM said efforts were on to bring the Prakash Ambedkar and Asaduddin Owaisi-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi into the opposition's fold to take on the ruling BJP and Shiv Sena in the election.
