Haryana Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Om Prakash Dhankha today advocated for protection of cows in the state, stating that indigenous cow milk help keep one's body immunised against ailments.
Speaking at a Holi event organised by the Gau Raksha Samiti (Cow Protection Committee) at Jatusana here, the minister asked the directors of cowsheds to ensure proper nourishment of cows.
Stating that the state government was going to enact stringent legislations for cow protection, he said provision for ten-year imprisonment would also be made in the legislation if a person is held guilty of cow slaughter.
