Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi has directed government departments and enquiry officers to expedite investigation against gazetted officers against whom disciplinary proceedings are pending, an official release said here today.

While reviewing the functioning of the vigilance department yesterday, Negi was informed that major penalty proceedings are pending against 10 APCS officers.

Besides, three engineers are being investigated over their alleged disproportionate assets, and one APCS officer is under suspension, the release said.

The chief secretary said it must be ensured that while wrong doers were made accountable, innocent officers should not face harassment.

The head of departments and secretaries should obtain and keep the details of properties owned by all gazetted officers, he added.
