Netaji's INA jolted colonial forces: Odisha Governor

Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal Wednesday said "Indian National Army (INA) commander Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had jolted the colonial forces so much so that the British had to quit India in 1947."

After paying tributes to Netaji on his 122nd birth anniversary at his birthplace here, Lal said analysts and researchers after making in-depth studies on Indias Freedom Struggle have opined "that bulk of the credit, in fact 75 per cent of the credit for Indias Independence goes to Netaji."

He said Netaji's birthplace in Cuttack should be developed into an important research center to study Indias freedom struggle.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also paid tributes to Netaji here and called upon the people to remember the tremendous sacrifices he made for the Independence of our country.

 

Both the governor and the chief minister visited the Netaji Birthplace National Museum here garlanded the statue of the legendary freedom fighter and went around the museum.
