New chairman of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council

Shubroto Thaosen was today elected as the new chairman of the 11th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) in Assam unopposed as declared by Dima Hasao district Deputy Commissioner and Chairman Juri Phukan.

Thaosen was declared as the new chairman after no other nomination was filed for the post.

Following the resignation of Ngamrothang Hmar from the post on November 2, Assam Governor had ordered for a session today of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council to elect a new Chairman.
