Newborn girl found dead

The body of a newborn girl was found

in Jhalana in the city, police said today.

The baby was spotted last night by some locals who informed the police and the girl's body was taken to a nearby hospital, Investigating Officer Ravindra Kumar said.

Post-mortem was conducted today and efforts were on to ascertain who abandoned the infant, he added.
