Newspapers and News Agencies employees agitate for wageboard

The demonstration held outside the buildings of Indian Express and The Times of India, under the banner of the Confederation of Newspapers and News Agencies Organisations (CNNAO), strongly condemned the "callous attitude" of the newspaper owners.
The Confederation warned that the agitation will be more vigorous and intensified if the newspaper managements did not implement the wageboard without further delay.
Decrying the "anti-labour" posture of the newspaper owners, CNNAO General Secretary M S Yadav said the agitation will be intensifed further if the managements did not relent on the demand of the employees and continued with their stance.
He warned that the agitation would be launched in front of offices of the country's largest newspaper in other cities across the country including Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore if its management did not agree to the demands of the employees.
Other leaders who addressed the meeting included Madan Talwar, Secretary General of All India Newspapers Employees Federation (AINEF), Parmanand Pandey, Secretary General of Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ), Madan Singh from Indian Journalists Union (IJU), S K Pandey from Delhi Journalist Union (DUJ), C K Naidu, President of Indian Express-Jansatta Workers Union and Roop Chand, General Secretary of Times of India Workers Union.
