NPAC forms first advisory committee for its Delhi Centre

The Nani Palkhivala Arbitration Centre (NPAC) constituted its first advisory committee for the Delhi centre, which will include leading arbitration and commercial lawyers practising in the country and abroad, according to a statement.

According to the statement, the committee would advise and assist the Board of Directors of NPAC with planning and achieving operational milestones and work towards their common vision of making it a world-class arbitration centre.

Senior Advocate and NPAC Director Arvind Datar welcomed the members and said, "We are delighted that a younger generation of leading arbitration and commercial lawyers will be joining us to make a positive contribution towards arbitration ecosystem."

"We are enthused by the ideas, energy and initiatives that this group brings to NPAC and we look forward to working closely with them."

The advisory committee would include arbitration lawyers practising in India and abroad -- advocate and independent counsels Amit George and Renu Gupta, Partner at law firm Advani & Co Shashank Garg, Partner and Head (Global Litigation) at Nishith Desai & Associates Moazzam Khan, Partner at Reed Smith LLP Singapore and Dubai Shourav Lahiri and Corporate Legal Head of Power Grid Corporation of India Vinay Pranjape.
