One person was killed and his brother injured today after a mob of around 20 people attacked them at their home in Pallasour village here, police said.
Deputy Superintendent Police Jagbinder Singh said a mob attacked the residence Surjit Singh (42) and killed him from point black range besides leaving his brother Jaswant Singh injured before fleeing the scene.
The injured Jaswant has approached the police, he said.
People involved in the clash belonged to the same political outfit and they had indulged in verbal brawl during an election campaign. They kept animosity in their mind, Jagbinder said.
Today a group of people went to the house of victim and attacked them with firearms resulting in killing of one person and leaving one injured.
