The prime accused in the acid attack on a teenaged girl in Ganjam district was today arrested even as the condition of the victim remained critical.
With this, the total number of arrests in the case have risen to two.
The prime accused, Toffan Bisoi (24), was today arrested from Gangapur village, a police officer said.

Yesterday, the police had arrested Lipun Bisoi (19) from the same village.
The 16-year old victim, who sustained over 60 percent burn injuries, had named the duo, the officer said. However, she could not recognise the other accused
"Though her condition is stable, she is still not out of danger. She will be kept under observation for some more days", doctors attending on her said.
At least four persons allegedly attacked the girl by throwing acid on her on Saturday midnight by entering her house, when she along with other family members was sleeping.
They allegedly threw acid on her when she had opened the door.
"We have identified the other accused persons. Search is on to nab them", additional SP (Ganjam) Gupta Mohankuda said.
Police said the exact cause of the attack was yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, Ganjam district administration today decided to bear the entire expenditure of the victim till her recovery.
"As per Supreme Court guideline, the state will bear full expenditure of the victim towards treatment till her recovery," sub-collector Berhampur Laxmikant Sethi said.
Besides, the administration will also bear the expenditure on food of one of her attender in the hospital.
If necessary she will be referred to another hospital for better treatment, the sub-collector said.
The administration has already provided Rs 5,000 to the family members of the victim from the district Red Cross Fund, he said.
