Oppn leaders criticising loan waiver out of frustration: Shahi

Uttar Pradesh's Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi today dismissed criticism by opposition leaders on loan waiver by the state government saying that they were talking in frustration.

He claimed that the Yogi Adityanath government had tried check incidents of farmers' suicide which previous governments had not done.

"The promises made in the sankalp patra (BJP manifesto) will be fulfilled 100 per cent. The government is committed to work for the prosperity of all without any discrimination', Shahi said here.

and no other government had done such a thing in the past.

He flayed the opposition criticism on loan waiver saying that they were talking in frustration.

Exhorting party workers, Shh asked them to work dedicatedly to turn Attar Pradesh into ATM Pradesh.

Delivering on Bk's poll promise to small and marginal farmers, the Yogi Auditing government has decided to waive their crop loans up to Rs 1 lake, totalling a staggering Rs 36,359 core.

The move will benefit over 2.15 core farmers, besides 7 lake others who had secured loans which turned into non- performing assets (Naps), it is estimated.
