Jammu and Kashmir government today said that over 26,850 industrial units are registered in the state.
"As per the information available with the department, over 26,850 industrial units are registered in the state," Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga said in a written reply in Legislative Assembly here.
He also added that 49,428 skilled and 43,884 unskilled local persons are engaged in these units.

"As per the government order, there shall be a 55 per cent cumulative share of local employees in all categories in a unit with a minimum increase of 5 per cent every year to eventually reach 90 per cent-level in units having more than 15 employees," Ganga said.
However, the same order has been stayed by the J&K High Court, he added.
