NCP president Sharad Pawar today met senior party leaders here to discuss the political situation in Maharashtra following the municipal and zilla parishad elections.
The ruling BJP made impressive gains in these elections, emerging as the single largest party in many places.
NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik said it was decided in the meeting that like-minded secular parties in the state must stay united.
Former Union Minister Praful Patel was also present at the meeting.
