Pipe-like object creates tense moments at railway station

"We recovered the object and after inspection, we found that there was no explosive material inside it. It was only a pipe-like object," S R Gandhi, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner of the Railway Police, said.

Around 11.30 am, a railway worker found a 'pipe-like' object in a garbage bin kept on the railway platform and informed police personnel, who removed it to a safer place from the crowded station.

The anti-bomb squads of the Government Railway Police and local police inspected the object and found nothing dangerous in it, police said.
