Press Trust of India Giridih (Jharkhand)
Jharkhand Director General of Police, D K Pandey, today said the police were asked to eradicate naxalism in Parasnath in naxal-affected Giridih district by year end.

The police were given the task under Mission 2017 to crush naxalism from Parasnath in Giridih district, Pandey said at Madhuban in Giridih district.

He was there to boost the morale of the police force, a day after it neutralised a naxalite in an encounter in Dholkatta village of the district yesterday.

The security personnel comprising District Armed Police, CRPF and Cobra were continued their search since the encounter yesterday and recovered an SLR, two magazines, electronic detonators, gelatin, cartridges, and other items, the DGP said.

Any hindrance in the path of development would not be tolerated, said Pandey.
