A constable was today shot dead by some persons allegedly due to old enmity in Baghpat district of the state, police sources said here.
Constable Kishan Singh (58), posted in the office of SP (City) Ghaziabad as a driver, was shot dead by some persons when he stopped his bike at Bavli crossing in Badaut area of Baghpat, they said.
An FIR has been registered in this connection, police said, adding that one Happu and some others were named in the report.
The name of victim's son came up in the murder of Happu's brother two years ago, they said.
The matter is being probed.
