Police crackdown on sex trade in Jodhpur, 29 arrested

In a massive crackdown on the flourishing sex trade in the city, the Jodhpur Police Commissionerate has arrested 29 persons including 22 women.

Raids were conducted on seven houses in Ghas Mandi locality of the city.

Besides the arrests, a huge quantity of contraceptives and cash have been seized from these houses.

ADCP (East) Kailash Singh Sandu said three police teams led by ACPs conducted the raids in the afternoon and arrested 22 women and seven men.

"We will also take action against the house owners who had provided accommodation on rent for the illegal trade," said Sandu.

Sandu said the police had been receiving complaints about the thriving sex trade in the locality for long.
