Police team attacked by accused in kidnapping case

Three persons, accused in a kidnapping case, allegedly opened fire at a police party which had come to arrest them in Jawli village in the district, police said today.

The police officers fired in retaliation, but could not arrest the accused.

A case has been registered against four persons, including the three accused, in this connection, police said.

According to police, area sales manager of a beverage company, Jaspal Rawat was abducted on Monday by the three accused, beaten up and then set free after three hours.

Rawat had lodged a police complaint against Ravi Kasana, Dharmendra Sharma and Rahul Singhal in this connection.
 

The police had gone to arrest the trio when the incident occurred.
