: The much awaited gauge conversion of Pollachi-Podanur track will be completed by January 2017, Southern Railway General Manager Vashishta Johri said today.
He stated this during an inspection of varous works at Pollachi railway station.
Johri hoped that Commissioner of Railway Safety would inspect the completed track in February 2017, a Southern Railway release said here.
After inspecting Palakkad Junction and Palakkad-Pollachi Section, he assessed that there would be progress of gauge Conversion work in Pollachi-Podanur section, along with the senior officers from Southern Railway Construction wing, Chennai Egmore, it said.
