Press Club seeks action against fake club

In a complaint, the Press Club of India alleged that one S Y Khan and Parvez Khan are running a club in the same name at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg despite having "full knowledge" that a registered Press Club of India has been operating since 1958.

"This organisation is operating with a malafide motive to mislead the journalists, mediapersons and members of the Press Club of India," Anil Anand, Secretary General of the Press Club of India, said in the complaint.

He also asked the police to take cognisance of the offence and register an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
