A prompt action by a BCCI panel umpire saved many people from getting injured near the Cricket Club of India premises on Dinshaw Vaccha road here.
"I was sitting at the CCI store last evening when I saw a crack in the floor tiles. Initially I thought it was an earthquake. But soon there was a crack in the wall, so I asked people to move away from parking area and clear the traffic there," said Marcus Couto, a BCCI Panel umpire.
"When I told people that a tree near the wall is about to fall, some even laughed at me. But within two minutes the tree started coming down," he said.
The fire brigade cleaned up the debris later, he added.
