The Krishna district administration here today issued a warning about heavy rain following the Met department's forecast about the depression in Bay of Bengal intensifying.
The coastal region is getting heavy showers for the last two days.
The district administration has opened a control room at Machilipatnam Collectrate Office with toll free No 1077 and land line number 08672-252572, said A Babu, District Collector.
The Collector said that nobody should venture into the sea as the sea would be rough and choppy.
Temporary shelters have been identified to relocate people, he added.
Cyclone Warning No 3 has been hoisted at the Machilipatnam Port.
