Rakesh Kapur elected as Chairman of FAI

Rakesh Kapur has been elected as chairman of Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) for a period of two years.

The decision was taken in the board meeting of FAI held yesterday here. FAI is the national body of the fertiliser sector comprising manufacturers, importers and various other entities related with the sector.

Kapur is the Joint Managing Director and CFO of IFFCO, the largest fertiliser Cooperative in the world with a turnover of USD 3.5 billion in 2013-14. He will hold charge till next AGM in 2017, FAI said in a statement.

Kapur has replaced S S Nandurdikar as the Chairman of FAI.
 

The Indian fertiliser sector has a turnover of over Rs 1.3 lakh crore per annum. India is the second largest consumer of fertilisers and third largest manufacturer of fertilisers in the world.
