Rhino horn, tiger claws recovered from hotel room

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a hotel in the heart of Jorhat town and recovered a rhino horn, weighing 9.10 gm, tiger claws and teeth.

Two youths from Agratoli Mising Gaon, under Bokakhat police station of Golaghat district, had put up in the hotel since Sunday. They were expecting a party from Dibrugarh to buy the three items, the police said.

The youths escaped leaving behind a bag from which the animal parts were recovered.

The owner of the hotel has been picked up for interrogation, the police said.
