Rice prices fell by up to Rs 150 per quintal, while jowar prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today.
However, movements in other grains remained erratic in the absence of worthwhile activity and settled around previous closing.
Traders said fall in demand from stockists and retailers against pick up in supplies, led to fall in rice prices.
In the national capital, rice sela traded lower at Rs 2,850-2,900 per quintal as against previous closing of Rs 3000-3150, while rice IR-8 shed Rs30 to Rs 1840-1850 per quintal.
However, jowar (yellow) and (white) traded higher at Rs 2,000-2,075 and Rs 3,600-3,700 per quintal against last close of Rs 1950-2050 and Rs 3,550-3,650 Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):
