A rickshaw puller here today made an unsuccessful attempt to self-immolate outside Deputy Commissioner's office here over alleged misbehaviour by the some officers, police said.
40-year-old Pal Singh, a resident of village Lodhipur, poured kerosene oil over his body and lit a matchstick to burn himself. He was saved as locals nearby pushed him and doused the fire, police said.
The motive behind his action was the alleged harassment he suffered behind a piece of land which he purchased in village Mehandli Khurd, Singh told media.

He had urged the District officers to demark his land in his presence, but the concerned authorities reported that he was unstable by mind, Singh said.
Besides, the authorities concerned reported wrong demarcation of his land, he claimed.
He said that today he met the Deputy Commissioner who asked the District Revenue Officer to look into the matter, but had lost hope after going through the insulting behaviour of the concerned officers.
"I tried to commit suicide as some officers misbehaved with me," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Tanu Kashyap asked the Revenue officers to conduct demarcation of his land and submit the report immediately.
A probe had also been marked into the incident, officials said.
