Rs 25 crore assistance for Pattukkottai Municipality

Tamil Nadu government today announced a special assistance of Rs 25 crore to Pattukkottai Municipality, to mark its golden jubilee.

Making a suo motu statement in the Assembly, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said the fund would be utilised for various infrastructure upgradation works in the Municipality.

Recalling Municipal Commissioner's letter to her government and Pattukkottai MLA's request in this regard, she said the allocation of Rs 25 crore would be used for water supply development, bus stand upgradation, construction of office buildings and other infrastructure works.

Created in 1965, Pattukkottai Municipality is approaching its golden jubilee celebrations starting this year.
