Paying homage to the rich legacy of Saint Teresa of Calcutta, West Bengal Governor KN Tripathi today said her canonisation was a recognition of her service to the society.
"Mother Teresa has inspired a large number of selfless social workers who are serving the cause of humanity in various ways," he said in a statement.
Expressing his happiness at Mother Teresa's elevation to sainthood yesterday at Vatican City, the Governor said the recognition was in response to the long and dedicated service to the poor and deprived by her.
