Sarkozy, Carla Bruni seek secret tapes injunction

Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni today launched legal action over the publication of potentially compromising tapes secretly recorded during his 2007-12 term as French president.

Lawyers for Sarkozy filed a request with a Paris court for an emergency injunction aimed at preventing further publication of hundreds of hours of conversations and discussions with officials which were recorded by a political adviser, Patrick Buisson, without the couple's knowledge.
