Sayali replaces injured Arundhati in Indian badminton squad

Shuttler Sayali Gokhle today replaced an injured Arundhati Pantawane in the women's Indian squad for the Uber Cup due to injury to the latter.

"I had hurt my shoulder after playing a match during the camp. It has been a week. It is a ligament injury. I will be out for another week atleast. It is unfortunate and disappointing because even last Uber cup I had an eye injury and I missed it," Arundhati said.

While Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu are set to compete in the first and second singles respectively against Canada in the campaign opener tomorrow, Gokhle will be in contention for a place in the third singles along with P C Thulasi and Tanvi Lad.
