Schools re-open in Kerala after summer vacation

Schools re-opened in Kerala after a two month long summer vacation with around 3 lakh tiny tots initiated into the world of learning.
Education Department organised colourful admission festivals -'praveshanotsavams'- across the state to welcome the newcomers to the standard one.
Chief minister, Pinarayi Vijiyan, who was the chief guest at the state wide function held here, said schools should be a place where the abilities and inharent talents of each students are nurtured.

Government will prepare projects to ensure that all students get opportunties to bring out their talents in arts and culture.
The new comers were greeted with sweets, songs and balloons.
Last year, about 2.89 lakh children took admission to the first standard against 2.94 lakh children in 2014.
