Search committee formed for appointment of U'khand Lokayukta

A five-member search committee was today formed for the appointment of Lokayukta in Uttarakhand.

In a meeting of the selection panel, five members of the search committee were selected unanimously, an official release said.

The members of the search committee include Brahm Singh Varma, Bhanwar Singh, R S Tolia, Alok Shah and Vibhapuri Das, it said.

The meeting was attended by Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal, Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Leader of Opposition Ajay Bhatt, Justice V K Bisht and Justice Irshad Hussain, the release stated.

Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting Rawat expressed hope that a Lokayukta would soon be appointed in the state.
