Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Manipur for peaceful celebration of Republic Day in the state, a top government official said today.
Security has been beefed up across the state, including the state capital Imphal, in view of the 69th Republic Day celebrations, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) of Manipur J Suresh Babu told PTI.
Additional security forces have been deployed at all the 16 district headquarters in the state, Babu said.
Assam Rifles (AR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Border Security Force (BSF) along with Manipur Police were carrying out combing operations at various places across the state on Thursday night, Babu added.
