: A septuagenarian widow residing alone
was found murdered in her house at Karattupalayam village near Kodumudi, 40 km from here today, police said.
They said the neighbours noticed the front door shut this morning and informed police, who came to the spot, broke it open to find the 70-year-old woman lying dead with her head smashed with a stone.
No valuables or cash was found missing from the house.
Police said the culprit had entered the house through the back door, murdered her and exited the same way.
