A shooting inside a federal courthouse in Salt Lake City today left at least one person injured, a spokeswoman for the US attorney said.
The shooting occurred in connection with a gang-related trial, US attorney's office spokeswoman Melodie Rydalch said.
Police were called to the downtown US District Court building about 9:45 a.M. Local time, and witnesses told the Salt Lake Tribune they saw someone carried out of the courthouse on a stretcher.
Rydalch didn't immediately say if the shooter was in custody. No other details were immediately available. The case was being heard in US District Judge Tena Campbell's courtroom.
