Shopkeeper commits suicide in Yavatmal

A shopkeeper allegedly committed suicide owing to harassment by private money- lender operating in the city. A complaint in this regard has been lodged with police.

The deceased have been identified as Sachin Pandhurkar (33), a resident of Tirupati Society on Pimpalgaon Road, said police.

A complaint has been lodged by deceased's wife Bhagyashri today.

According to the complainant, her husband had borrowed a small sum of amount from the accused for setting up a hair cutting saloon. The deceased had already paid back the amount. But they started demanding interest which ran into hundreds of rupees.

When the deceased refused to budge, they threatened him of closing his saloon which left him frustrated, said the complaint.
 

Sachin consumed poison in his house on Tuesday evening. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition where he passed away during treatment on Friday, said police.
