Haldwani was the only place to be lashed by heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand today while most other places in the state reported only light to moderate showers.
Haldwani, which is in Nainital district, received a maximum of 150mm rainfall over the last 24 hours followed by Tanakpur in Champawat with 78mm, the State Disaster Management and Mitigation Centre here said.
Dharchula in Pithoragarh district received 59mm rainfall while the Koshiyakuteli area in Nainital district got 40mm, it added. However, Dehradun saw just 1.1mm showers today, it said.

Meanwhile, with relief work on in full swing in the state which was hit by flash floods in June, Chief Minister Vijay Baghuguna today visited Chamoli despite the inclement weather to review the efforts there. Chamoli district was one of the worst-hit in the mid-June calamity.
Bahuguna, who had to more than once put off his visit to Chamoli due to bad weather, finally managed to tour the Tharali and Deval areas of the district.
He met the affected people and announced that money from the CM's discretionary fund would be released immediately for the reconstruction of a damaged mosque in Tharali.
Back in Dehradun, the family members of Union Minister of State for Tourism Chiranjeevi made a contribution of Rs 41 lakh to the CM's relief fund.
The filmstar-turned-politician's relatives Allu Arjun and KN Nagbabu met State Disaster Relief Minister Yashpal Arya at his residence and handed over a cheque for the said amount.
Of the amount extended, Rs 10 lakh each was given by Arjun and Nagbabu while the rest was put together by their fans, an official release here said.
