Silver futures up 0.3% on global cues

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices were up by Rs 98 to Rs 33,433 per kg in futures trade today after participants raised their bets amid firming global trends.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March was up by Rs 98 or 0.29%, to Rs 33,433 per kg in a business turnover of 476 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month May traded higher by Rs 90 or 0.27%, to Rs 33,857 per kg in 13 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at futures trade to a firming trend in the precious metal overseas as growing tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran spurred demand for the precious metals as a safe haven investment.

Meanwhile, silver traded 0.33% higher at $13.88 an ounce in Singapore.
