Six injured at Mathura railway station

At least six passengers were injured when the Mathura-Rewari passenger train heavily jerked while the engine was attached to it at a high speed at Mathura junction station today.

Six persons were injured in the incident which occurred around 1.25 PM. The injured passengers claimed that the engine was attached to the rake at a high speed.

"25-year-old Bappi Lahari of Hathras in Uttar Pradesh, who was sitting in the luggage van, was seriously injured in the incident. He has been referred to a private hospital," Chief Medical Officer Vivek Mishra said.

An inquiryhas been ordered in the matter and action against the engine driver has been recommended, ADRM Dilip Singh said.
