Small sugar softens in listless trade

Small Sugar prices edged down further in an otherwise listless Vashi wholesale market here today on reduced offtake from millers.

Medium sugar held stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Small sugar (S-30) eased by Re per quintal to Rs 2,862/2,990 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 2,862/2,991.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,862/2,990 (Rs 2,862/2,991).

Medium sugar(M-30) quality: Rs 3,012/3,222 (Rs 3,012/3,222).
