SP leader, six others booked on charges of ransacking shops

A case was registered against Yogendra Yadav and his six accomplices on the complaint filed by shopkeepers alleging that they vandalised the shops in B-block market in Kavi Nagar after free groceries were refused to them, Police Circle Officer Vivek Rajan said.

After the incident, several locals gathered to protest against such hooliganism and had to be dispersed by police.

Police have initiated an investigation into the matter and a search for the accused is in progress, Rajan said .
