Sri Lankan sailors arrested for sexual abuse

At least seven sailors have been arrested in Sri Lanka's northern Jaffna peninsula for sexually assaulting a girl child, police said today.

"On July 15, an 11-year-old child had complained of sexual abuse. Seven sailors were arrested following her complaint", police Superintendent Ajith Rohana said.

Further investigation is carried out in Jaffna, he said.
