State media: 2 Americans killed in Jordan police shooting

Jordan's government-owned Al-Rai newspaper says a Jordanian policeman opened fire on American contractors at a police training center, killing two and injuring three.

The daily, quoting unnamed official sources, says the fatal shooting took place today on the outskirts of the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The report says security agencies launched an investigation. It says it's not clear whether the shooting was intentional.

Jordanian government officials and the US Embassy in Jordan had no immediate comment.
