Sugar dips on poor demand

Prices of both varieties of sugar dipped further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on poor demand from stockists and retailers as well as bulk consumers.

Small sugar (S-30) declined by Rs 4 per quintal to Rs 3,772/3,872 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 3,776/3,876.

Medium sugar (M-30) also dropped by Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 3,836/4,002 as compared to Rs 3,836/4,022.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,772/3,872 (Rs 3,776/3,876).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,836/4,002 (Rs 3,836/4,022).
