Sugar prices fell by Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale sugar market in national capital today following heavy position of stocks in markets.
Marketmen said mounting of stocks following constant arrivals from mills mainly led to fall in sweetener prices.
However, good demand from stockists, bulk consumers such as soft-drink, ice-cream and sweet makers due to ongoing marriage season managed to halt the steep fall in sweetener prices.
