Sugar prices up on brisk demand, reduce arrivals

Sugar prices improved by Rs 30 per quintal in the national capital today following brisk buying support amid restricted supply from mills.

Marketmen said higher millers advices along with frantic buying from stockist and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers mainly pushed up sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices hardened by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,130-3,360 and Rs 3,120-3,350 per quintal.

Similarly mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices asked higher by Rs 20 each at Rs 2,970-3,195 and Rs 2,960-3,185 per quintal.

Among millgate section, prices of sugar Mawana traded higher at Rs 3,095 per quintao, Kinnoni at Rs 3,195 and Modinagar rose by Rs 30 at Rs 3,080 per quintal.
 

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,130-3,360, S-30 Rs 3,120-3,350.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,970-3,195; S-30 Rs 2,960-3,185.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,095, Kinnoni 3,195, Asmoli 3,130, Dorala 3,100, Budhana 3,110, Thanabhavan 3,100, Dhanora 3,100, Simbholi 3,190, Modi Nagar Rs 3,080, Khatuli 3,170, Dhampur 3,070, Ramala 3,000, Bulandshar 3,090, Anupshar 2,970, Baghpat 3,000, Morna 2,935, Sakoti 3,020, Chandpur 3,060, Amroha N.T. And Nazibabad 2,990.
