Sugar rules steady on lacklustre trade

Both the varieties of sugar ruled steady at the Vashi wholesale market here today following lack of worthwhile demand from stockists and retailers.

Both Small Sugar (S-30) and Medium Sugar (M-30) closed at its Monday's level of 3,970/4,032 and Rs 4,016/4,276 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,970/4,032 (Rs 3,970/4,032).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 4,016/4,276 (Rs 4,016/4,276).
