Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries today rose by 2 per cent after the company reported over three-fold jump in consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended December 31.
The stock gained 2.09 per cent to settle at Rs 848.35 on BSE. During the day, it rose by 6.41 per cent to Rs 884.25.
At NSE, it went up by 2 per cent to close at Rs 847.35.
At the volume front, 6.20 lakh shares of the company changed hands at BSE and over 52 lakh shares were traded at NSE during the day.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries today posted over threefold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,416.60 crore for the third quarter ended December 31.
The drug major had posted a net profit of Rs 395.33 crore during the same period of previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 7,046.57 crore for the third quarter as against Rs 6,885.46 crore in the same period of previous fiscal, Sun Pharma said in a regulatory filing.
